JROTC Program of Accreditation Evaluation

Greetings Eastside High School leadership and Staff,

I would like to respectfully announce that the Eastside High School Mighty Ghost Battalion JROTC program hard work and dedication during its Program of Accreditation evaluation (JPA) conducted by US Army Cadet Command on May 8, 2024 provided excellent results. The JROTC program received an overall rating of 98.30% the highest rating in history (the program was established in 1993).

The excellent rating acquired surpasses the 96% rating obtained three years ago maintaining our program within the top 5% of JROTC units within our Nation “An Honor unit with Distinction” A testament of how the program has continued to grow and prosper throughout the years.

To provide all a little background JPA inspections are conducted every three years by US Army Cadet Command. The inspection takes months of preparation and dedication from all instructors and cadets at every LET academic level. The inspection is designed to asses units in the areas of teaching, learning, and building Cadet leaders. Units that achieve 95% rating or higher obtain the title of Honor Unit with Distinction a distinguished title only 5% of programs ever receive within the United States (Total JROTC programs: 3,275)

The visit is comprised of accreditation criteria’s that include a Continuous Improvement presentation led by Cadets (consisting of 40 slides or more), Service-Learning presentation led by Cadets (consisting of 40 slides or more), inspection of Cadet Portfolios (Cadets at all levels are interviewed), inspection of our Cadet Unit report (report consisting of all JROTC activities conducted), inspection of Cadet Drill and Color Teams and finally inspection of instructor portfolios.

On behalf of our JROTC Cadets, Army Instructors (CSM Garcia, SFC Branwell) and myself we would like to express are thanks to all the leadership and staff of Eastside High School for the continued support throughout the years. Thank you for helping us invest in tomorrow’s leaders.
